Pisang Peak, 16 days + 4 days Kathmandu,20 days total
Max alt. 6,091 m
March-may, Sep-Nov
Pisang, the most popular trekking peak in the Annapurna region, looms over the eponymous village, which offers great views of its ice-and-snow pyramid. Walk through woods and villages, yak pastures and secret meadows to reach the curved and steep, but well-defined ridge. Approached this way – and this remains the most common route, it's not a terribly difficult mountain. But more experienced climbers point to the exploratory possibilities that lie in the gigantic slabs of rack as well as the hanging glacier on the western flanks of Pisang.
